This quick guide will help prepare you and know exactly what to expect on installation day.
Considering new carpet in your home? Visit our Flooring Installation Guide for answers to frequently asked questions. Our goal at Floorida Floors is to help guide expectations to create a stress-free experience.
Before & After Installation
When it comes to a successful and efficient carpet installation, preparation is essential. Any space receiving new carpet needs to be free and clear of all furniture - closets need to have 4ft of clearance from the floor. Floorida Floors includes take up and disposal of the existing carpet in the bundled pricing posted in our showroom.
On your carpet installation day, a member of your household who is at least 18 or older should be available to greet the installation crew and show them to the work area. For everyone’s safety, keep children and pets away from the work area, the installation tools, and the rooms receiving new carpet until the job is done. Make sure to ask your lead installer any questions you might have about the finished product!
The best way to protect your investment is to place mats throughout your home, primarily at entrances. Floorida Floors offers in-house binding service to create these mats of balance materials from your installation. Removing outdoor shoes is an important part of minimizing common soiling.
It is important to develop a regular vacuuming routine. If your carpet experiences light to medium traffic, vacuuming once or twice a week should be sufficient. If it experiences heavy traffic, we recommend more frequent vacuuming. Areas such as stairs and traffic lanes are considered several traffic and require more frequent vacuuming as well as regularly scheduled professional cleaning service.
